Uniformed Groups

Hua Yi Secondary School offers its DSA under Uniformed Groups (UG) and is focused on developing leadership opportunities in the UG. Hua Yians in the UG will enjoy opportunities to develop skills, dispositions, and talents to equip them with the skills and support required to lead others as well as to serve the community.

National Cadet Corps (NCC) Land (Boys)
National Police Cadet Crops (NPCC) (Boys & Girls)
Red Cross Youth (Boys & Girls)

Highlights

Emplaced on a mentoring programme to support their transition into possible leadership roles.
Priority for select leadership opportunities and skills training to equip them with the knowledge to facilitate their peers’ learning in the UG.
Exposure to varied leadership development experiences at HQ level and school.
Opportunities to interact with UG leaders at cluster and HQ level.

Criteria

Students should submit as part of their application documents that attest to their experience in any Primary School UG.
Students should possess personal qualities and strengths that are indicative of their potential to be a UG cadet. This can be demonstrated using their CCA records, a personal statement and character referees.
Shortlisted students will be interviewed by a panel to determine If they will be a good fit for the school.
