At Hua Yi, we are committed to nurturing a caring school community and preparing our students to be future-ready. We want every student to feel known, valued, and empowered, with the space to learn, lead, and grow.

Building on our strong foundation of care and character, we continue to evolve to meet the needs of our times — helping our students find their voice and confidence as they navigate an ever-changing world. This spirit of growth and renewal comes to life as we look forward to a significant milestone — our 70th Anniversary in 2026.

As one of Singapore’s first government-established Chinese secondary schools, our history is a source of pride. Our 2026 school theme, “Our Legacy, Our Voice, Our Future,” celebrates our strong heritage and reaffirms our mission to nurture Hua Yians who embody our school values — 仁 (benevolence), 义 (justice), 智 (wisdom), 群 (togetherness).

This milestone year is not only a time to honour the generations of dedicated staff, students, and alumni who have built Hua Yi’s legacy of resilience and steady progress, it is also a reminder of the enduring spirit that defines us. That same spirit continues to guide how we nurture our students today: encouraging them to find their voice, live out our values, and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.

We believe every student’s voice matters. At Hua Yi, students are given meaningful opportunities to share ideas, lead change, and make a difference, whether through class projects, Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs), or student leadership initiatives. This spirit of empowerment is rooted in a culture of deep care and mentorship. Our teachers guide students to take ownership of their learning and actions, while modelling empathy and integrity. We believe true leadership begins with care, for oneself, for others, and for the community.

To prepare students for an ever-changing world, we nurture them to be grounded in values and equipped with 21st century competencies.
